Cleveland Scout Group Annual General Meeting is to be held on Monday the 18th May at 7:30pm online via Zoom. The AGM is an important event in the Group’s calendar. It is a requirement that an AGM be held once a year.
The AGM is a forum that offers everyone the opportunity to hear about the group’s previous year’s activities from the Leaders and committee members. It is a celebration of your child’s activities and achievements as Scouting members, as well as an opportunity to acknowledge the valuable volunteer work of the leaders.
Attend the AGM to let your son or daughter know you support their interests and to let your leaders know how much you value the time and energy they put into Scouting.
A quorum of 25% of the groups membership base is required for the AGM to proceed. We formally request that as a minimum one representative of each member family attend the AGM.

ROLE OF THE PARENT SUPPORT COMMITTEE
All roles in Scouting are voluntary with the exception of paid employees at the Branch Office and at some Scout activity centres. The Parent Committee provides financial support, den maintenance and support to the leaders within the Group to keep it up and running.
Support Committee meetings are usually held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 6.30pm at the Den but are running via Zoom at the moment..
We understand that time has become a precious commodity that not everyone can give, but please seriously consider coming to the Annual General Meeting on 18th May from 7.30pm and perhaps take on a position or just become a committee member. No one is forced into a position or made to feel uncomfortable so please just come to give your support. Without a strong support team the Cleveland Scout Group will struggle to continue.
Scouting has something of value to contribute to the community and has an important place in the development and education of boys and girls and young adults. And for the adults it is rewarding and even fun. Scouting is about everyone contributing something, no matter how small.
